| WSJT Ver.5.x.x |
| The current version of WSJT is Ver.5.9.7 although it is referred to as WSJT 6 in both the Console and Main
program windows. Ver.7.01 beta is now available (this offers no changes to JT6M users). |
| When WSJT is run for the first time you are presented with 3 Windows, WSJT
Console, WSJT Main Application
and Specjt (replaces Spectran bundled with Ver.4.x.x.). The Console window is mainly used
for debugging messages. It also provides the user with information pertaining to the Sound card configuration, Input and Output devices, as explained
in the WSJT Console page. WSJT initially opens with FSK441 mode selected. |

 |
Setting-up WSJT for JT6M use is fairly straight forward. From the Main window, click on Mode and select
JT6M or press Shift+F7.
The WSJT main window will look similar to the screenshot shown here. |

 |
| The other option functions listed are self explanatory. |
| Click on File - here you can find access to saved .wav files. By default, WSJT creates and saves .wav files
in folder RxWav. Any saved .wav files can be "replayed" and their signals decoded. An option is given to remove these - Delete Files in RxWav. |
| Unlike Ver.4.x.x, all decoded text is saved automatically to ALL.txt file. There is no option to disable
this. Therefore depending on use, the file size will grow. Remember to erase this from time to time. |
| You can save each RX period in a .wav file. Click on Save and there are 4 options -
None, Save Decoded, Save if Auto On and Save All. Select as required but be aware that saving will use up space
on your PC hard drive. |
| Click on Help to display a useful list of commands. These are self explanatory. |
| Pressing F5 will produce a handy popup window which shows the message sequences you should
follow for the mode you are using. This should help you if you forget the procedure ! |
| The next pages show screenshot's of WSJT Console, Options, Main Window and SpecJT together with
explanation of the settings and functions. |
| To complete the setup of WSJT Version 5, click Setup / Options or press F2.
The Ver5. Options page explains these in detail. |
